I would generate a clear shadow projected on a floor. I am wondering what is the essential node used to achieve this.

I am using these nodes enter image description here

and I get this image, I remark that the shadow is blurred (a lot of penumbra). I fix the focus at the floor and I try to change the Aperture (F/stop) to fit the depth of field. enter image description here

  • $\begingroup$ Do you mean clear as in not blurry, ie sharp? $\endgroup$ Commented Feb 23, 2015 at 17:12
  • $\begingroup$ @RayMairlot, I edit my text. I mean it is blurred $\endgroup$ Commented Feb 23, 2015 at 17:13

$\begingroup$ on sun, point and spot lamps, you can reduce the size to get sharp shadows $\endgroup$

$\begingroup$ don't scale the object but use the light property "size" $\endgroup$

Making this size smaller makes the shadow sharper:
