When I add an Armature with a single Bone to the scene, like so:

enter image description here

Single Bone and then an EmptyEmpty object to the scene, as follows:

enter image description here
single bone and an empty

and thenThen I add a Copy RotationCopy Rotation bone-constraint, where I set the EmptyEmpty object as the target:

enter image description here

, the constraint will rotate my bone on the xX axis by 90 degree90 degrees:

enter image description herecopy rotation constraint rotating bone

Although neither the ArmatureArmature, nor the BoneBone and not even the EmptyEmpty has any rotations whatsoever..

My question is: why is this happening and if this is the expected behaviourbehavior, then how can I prevent it from happening?
