This is the correct answer. It's ridiculous that animation software is still based on frames, honestly. Time should be the only factor against which key frames are added. That way, the number of frames in a second is irrelevant and can be considered equivalent to the "resolution" of the animation.
macOS will launch the same binary in as many separate processes as you want if you enter the command mentioned above in Terminal.app. You don't need multiple .app files or "installations" (which are rare/generally frowned upon in macOS).
