Jul 22, 2017 at 9:50 comment added Joël vdh thanks @Tooniis my gpu works now. In the BMW27 render test I got a render time of 8 min. that's a big difference.
Jul 22, 2017 at 8:44 comment added Tooniis @Joëlvdh go to settings>system and select OpenCL under Compute Device, and if you cannot find it listed then maybe the answer here will help you blender.stackexchange.com/questions/68148/…

Duplicate of Why are my render times 30+ minutes, but other people's are ~3 minutes? [duplicate]
Jul 21, 2017 at 20:51 comment added bertmoog Where did you get the BMW file (link)? I've seen several floating around. How many CPU threads are you using? Are you running any concurrent applications?

Jul 21, 2017 at 16:47 comment added user1853 As you've already discovered, If you are working with CPU, tiles of 16x16 pixels are faster than lager tiles. Try the newest versions of blender ( available at builder.blender.org/download). Apparently support for AMD GPUs has improved.. If you manage to get GPU rendering to work test again to find the optimal size for your system, usually tiles of 256x256 work well.
