If you have applied transformations to an object, it's matrix_world is Matrix(((1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0), (0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0), (0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0), (0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0))) which is useless (2.8x)
