The Grease Pencil tools allow Blender users to draw lines inside of the 3D viewport. Possible uses for the resulting sketches include scene and animation planning as well as in-scene descriptions. They can be converted to curve objects and organised in layers.
The Grease Pencil
is a particular type of Blender object that allows you to draw in the 3D space. It can be used to make traditional 2D animation, cut-out animation, motion graphics or used as storyboard tool among other things.

The object acts as a container of strokes that you can create using drawing tools in Draw Mode
