I'm having some issues with sculpting and texture painting an imported mesh.

I've imported the mesh from Sketchup, and the geometry isn't fine, so I applied the remesh modifier and I got a great quads´ mesh... in Edit Mode: but as soon as I get back to Object Mode (and wireframe view), or I unwrap the mesh, I get back to the bad geometry mesh.

The problem is that I want to sculpt the mesh and texture paint, but when I texture paint I get some triangles painted out of the area that I'm really painting.

Anyone has been there before? I've been trying for days to solve this problem...enter image description here

$\begingroup$ If the remesh modifier really did what you need, then you have to apply the modifier. $\endgroup$ – David Feb 1 '17 at 21:26

  • $\begingroup$ Yeah, you have to apply the Remesh modifier before proceeding, possibly in a copy of the original object so you can get back to the original if needed. $\endgroup$ – Duarte Farrajota Ramos Feb 1 '17 at 23:45
