I'm trying to simulate clothing by following this tutorial: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f5RgG_Yywg&list=PLm8X-NrorQpU71Zx1CHfgUdZ9jHwIe4zM&index=165&t=4s". However, for some reason, the clothe just half collides, half collapses into the character. I've tried to increase the scale, changed parameters and tested a collision with a cube which worked. But it still doesn't want to collide with the character properly. I also tried to create a low-poly version with fewer faces and made sure the mesh has no holes for a hopefully more corrrect collision, with no success. Does someone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? The character mesh is just a female high-poly humanoid. I don't think a picture is really needed.

Turns out my faces were pointing in the wrong direction, so recalculating the outside helped. I thought I had already tried doing that, but I probably forgot to select the faces before recalculating.
