Has anyone got good examples of using Blender for scientific image analysis? I'm not talking about 3D visualisations of scientific data, like in this answer, but taking a series of images, and then using a pipeline of image processing to render out the results.

It seems that a lot of the processes that scientists traditionally code in Jupyter notebooks using Canny edge detection, gaussian blurs, gamma adjustments, RGB channel adjustments etc, could be nicely handled using Blender's node-based processes.
