I want to create a wave-like animation on a plane mesh which I need to use in a web-based project, so I used the wave-modifier to create an animation but on exporting and opening the file in 3d viewer it just shows a flat plane. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? And if I can't use modifiers is there any other way to make such an animated model?

  • $\begingroup$ Modifiers typically don’t export properly into other formats. You’ll need to do the animation in some other way I’m pretty sure. Game engines, for example, often put a grid-like armature on blankets and fabric, and make it behave properly, but I have no idea how this is done. $\endgroup$
