I have a group of objects that make up a house. I merged them all into one object and now wish to bake the textures and normal maps onto it (I do not want to bake any lighting). There are 21 materials in total with a diffuse texture image and a normal map for each material. I followed all the usual instructions like smart UV unwrapping the object and then creating a new texture image for each material, but it never comes out the way I want it to.

Here is how the house looks before I try to bake the textures:enter image description here

This is how it looks afterwards:

The UV Map is very complex:

I would really appreciate any advice regarding this. Please let me know if more information is needed.

  • $\begingroup$ Why does it have to be a single texture and a single object? Did you apply the size of each object before you merged them into one object? Why do you want to use smart UV projection instead of normal unwrapping? $\endgroup$ – metaphor_set Apr 19 at 17:38
