I am learning about 3d modeling and getting acquainted with all the different topics and had a question that I couldn't find an answer to. I want to export my 3D CAD Model but debating on the format. Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) vs SVG.

The former, I can create a tree where the leafs are the primitive shapes and traversing the tree I can generate the final object. On the other hand, isn't SVG just a system of equations? Couldn't I generate a system of equations that generates the 3D model as well?

  • $\begingroup$ Is this a question about blender, or 3D and computer graphics in general? If the only the latter, then perhaps computergraphics would have a better answer... $\endgroup$ – Timaroberts Dec 27 '20 at 23:23
