I am having troubles with a fairly simple armature. It is basically a Cylinder that has an armature that allows to move the top and bottom plus aim them and I also have a center bone that can keep the geometry between top and bottom.

I want to use this as a kind of "portal" where I can place the top and bottom as i like and the center is positioned via constraints. Top and bottom aims are unity aim constraints.

Here the simple setup:

Cylinder with Armature

With this hierarchy:

When I export this to blender using FBX I get the following rotations on the axis:

TopPosition: -180 / 0 / 0

Center: 0 / 0 / -180

Bottom: 0 / 0 / 0

(I used the trick to rotate x -90, freeze rotations, rotate x +90 before exporting)

And those messed up rotation axis now mess with my aim constraints in a completely unpredictable way. Is there any chance to export that simple armature with zeroed rotations? I am really desperate after several days with such an obviously easy task.

  • $\begingroup$ Although I still would like to know kow to export clean rotation values the aiming constraint problem seems to be in unity and not from the blender armature. $\endgroup$
