I'm trying to make some text objects for a Unity game. Essentially, letters will be falling from out of frame and rotating in 3D space. I've created extruded text and added a front and back "face" in a darker colour, and with a different fill mode.

However, I would like the "edges" of the letters in-between the two faces to be dark as well. Is there any way I can do this without converting my letters to a mesh (that is, this would make it easier to bulk-edit the alphabet and retain the ability to change fonts). Below is a screenshot outlining what I mean by trying to "outline" the "edges".

non-outlined edges that need to be outlined, highlighted in red.

I consulted this resource, but I seem to need something a bit more specific: How to add outline to text?

Thank you for any input.
