I am new to blender and was wondering if this kind of project was possible.

I want to make a salvador dahli dripping clock and was wondering if this work flow would work for 3D printing.

First, I make a clock in blender

then I apply soft body physics or liquid phisics (?) and make it "melt" stopping it before it is unrecognizable.

then I go into edit mode and manipulate the mesh and export it for 3d printing.

Could this kind of thing actually be done?

Thanks so much for your help.

  • $\begingroup$ You can apply the simulation's result in the Modifier Properties panel and it will be a simple mesh object, so you can edit it in Edit Mode. $\endgroup$ – FFeller Jul 23 at 15:56
