I would like to create some check scene tools based on shading. This would consist in having a shading mode, in a 3D View, where for example all the objects that have an animation (or more than a given number of poly for eg) would be displayed in a red color and the other in another one. That's a common tool in many game engines.

Do you know if this kind of mecanics exists in Blender? If not, how would you approach it? Would it be by "overriding" (well, let's say swapping) all the materials in the scene? (kind of brute force approach to me at first glance). Other ideas?

Thank you for any clue or tips ;)
