i am not sure why but animating the influence slider on the "Child of" constraint on one object in the middle of an animation seems to mess up this specific object in another action. it changed its position and performs random movements and after seemingly fixing it with animating this single object again, now this same object is messed up in another action. did someone also experience this at some point? how can i fix this?

in case you decide to use the blend file, the affected object(s) are the shotgun shells.

  • $\begingroup$ There is a method that will circumvent this with the Child-of constraint - see "Method 2" in the answer. It deals with using two of these constraints but will also work if wanting to switch the constraint off with the influence slider.
