I'm trying to get an orange line onto the side of my train, now I've attempted to use the UV Editor to get the line onto the model, which isn't working. I am aware of the ability to paint on an image/png to the side of a mesh with the stencil tool. However, is there a way to do this with a plane? In a way, like a knife projection, but using the paint and stencil tool. I have attempted to make the orange line with a plane and the surfaces of the train I'm making. You can see the problem I'm having with one of the photos below. https://gyazo.com/a367fada0d507ebf6a731bfbfad5ef1e https://gyazo.com/4c5cbabc8ff33267934f0a06fae7cb99

  • $\begingroup$ The stencil setting in the paint tools doesn't allow to 'wrap' around an object, only project directly from view. There are a few ways you can work around getting the line onto your object that would include things like face select masking using a mesh selection to limit the paint, and then there is the use of a secondary object to 'bake' an emission shader from to make a stencil, or straight up modeling theline with a separate material and using the magnet to make it snap to the surface of the model. $\endgroup$ – Craig D Jones Jun 12 at 20:08
