I would like to do a simulation with a fluid flow source which is very small compared to the domain ( the final result will be about 30 times taller than it is wide). However, it doesn't seem to work when the flow source becomes too small compared to the domain. enter image description here

you can see the very top part of the simulation here, the fluid source and collision effector. The fluid either doesn't appear at all, or it comes out in sporadic bursts like you can see above.

Additionally the fluid does not respect the collision effector despite abit of thickness and correct normals.

What settings can I change to create a constant flow and get nice looking results similar to when the flow source is more comparable to the domain size?
