I'm making a specialty mesh using Blenders skin modifier and metaballs.

(I'm currently using blender internal Version 2.78a)

what I would like to do is use the skin modifier on an existing mesh(which is done) then modify before applying the skin of that mesh using metaballs to force the skin to wrap around the current metaball acting almost as a metaball itself.

I'm uncertain if this is even possible in Blender but any help would be appreciated, below I've posted a diogram to hopefully better explain what I am trying to accomplish.

[I apologize if this question seems similiar to some others, but I could not find a way to do specifically this, on SO, online or anywhere else].

diogram, wrapping geometry around metaball object.

  • $\begingroup$ Metaballs can only interact with other metaballs, as far as I know, so that is not the path to reach your end goal, unless you can do that only using metaballs $\endgroup$ – Duarte Farrajota Ramos Jan 12 at 0:47
