I'm trying to create a 3D model of a road on a topographical map.
I have the topographical map imported into Blender.
I have an SVG of the road (extracted from a normal map) generated in Inkscape.
Right now I have the road hovering in the sky above the topographical map, and want to drop it onto the land, which is at different heights.
So basically, keep the x,y of all points, but lower the z to the first thing you encounter below it.
I'm comfortable with programming, but just got started with Blender/Python. This will be my "Hello, world!". Huge thanks if someone can get me started, and I will of course pay it forward.
