I'm trying to create a "fake" shadow for my object because I don't like the natural shadow it makes from the lighting in my scene. I would like to create one light source that creates the shadow for my object, but I don't want it to actually shine any light because I have other lighting in the scene for that.

  • $\begingroup$ You can use a workaround by creating a new collection that contains 3 things: your object, your light that you want to cast the shadow with, and a shadow catcher object. The shadowcatcher is your ground and everything else that might receive the shadow. Now you can render just this collection and overlay it on top of your regular scene. This approach works for animation too. $\endgroup$ – BuzzKirill Dec 14 '19 at 18:57
