I decided to come to Blender to use as my video editor, however when I import video, the frames are very bad. It goes down to 4fps, and up to 35, which is strange considering the video's only 30fps. Anyway, this is super annoying and I cannot render anything to upload for this. It is there in both the preview and the animation after rendering. The normal video, before importing, is consistently 30 frames.

  • $\begingroup$ It sounds like Blender may have more work to do in some sections than others and consequently slows down in the Video Editor screen. With many videos I find it less troublesome to convert to AVI beforehand and lay that into the VSE strip. Sound synch issues can disappear this way. I then export that as Lossless AVI and convert the output in NCH's Video editor to (usually) mp4. $\endgroup$ – Edgel3D Dec 2 '19 at 3:34
