I'm learning rigging, and I have got a "philosophical" question here...

I was wondering if, when using IKs, people do usually parent Pole Targets to Targets ?

From what I understood, a Pole Target is used to "adjust" a pose after the target has been moved.

But in the tutorial I watched on CGCookie, they don't parent it.

Is it on purpose ? What is the 'standard' way of doing it ?

Thanks !

  • $\begingroup$ I guess there is no rule, you should test on your armature to see if it works better, if you feel that it works fine without parenting, then don't $\endgroup$ – moonboots Oct 22 '19 at 15:37
