I am trying to make a short cyclic animation with fire embers moving across the screen. my plan is to bake the embers (already done, looks perfect) and bake them longer (850 frames in cache) than my final animation (700 frames total video length). then i want to duplicate the particle system with a duplicate cache (again, i have already done this) now my problem is to just move the new cache so the final frame of the video (that is frame 700) will be also be the starting frame of the video with a 150 frame overlap of the cache to allow it to be cyclic. if i could just grab that little red cached bar and move it, it seems so simple, yet so difficult.i hope this isnt too confusing. i am using cycles 2.8.

  • $\begingroup$ You can use special renaming apps, like advancedrenamer.com. Last two digits of .bphys file is cache's index, six previous digits defines frame. So rename only these numbers while keep everything else as it is. Don't forget to backup yours cache! $\endgroup$ – Serge L Sep 24 '19 at 21:05
