I have a question, I am currently creating a game in unity and creating the character in blender. I am having some trouble when weight painting the character (just small stuff, nothing really big). Now my question is: if I were to animate this character (in unity or blender) would it be possible to change the character (just the small fix would be changed) and keep the animations without any problems, or do i have to be completely satisfied with the weight paint before I can start animating?

Secondly, if I'm making a game in Unity, is it better to animate in unity or blender. Thanks

  • $\begingroup$ No, you can change the weight paints after animating, but I believe you have to do some sort of baking if you do it that way. Daniel Bystedt used this method when he made the tiger eevee demo. $\endgroup$ – Millard Aug 20 '19 at 19:29
