I've made a model for which i have a diffuse/albedo texture and a metallic texture in blender-2.80.0-git.1f1b638b4030-windows64. Iv'e used the principled BSDF and set the base color and metallic to the textures, im sure ive set the metallic to metallic and albedo to albedo.

I export as obj. the mlt file reads as follows: map_Kd FloppyDisk.png refl FloppyDiskMetallic.png

seems fine

but on import, the base color is set to FloppyDiskMetallic whose method of projections is also sphere instead of flat, and the albedo color is nowhere to be found. Is this a bug?

Further more ive repeated the steps in 2.79 On export i get an mlt that reads map_Kd D:\Blender\FloppyDisk\FloppyDisk.png so no metallic has been exported at all, but fair enough.

On import i get a whole bunch of weird nodes, the diffuse texture is loaded but its multiplied with a black color for some reason.

Im not sure how to go about exporting an obj file with textures.

$\begingroup$ For what reason do you need to export obj with textures? Maybe there is more correct way to do the job. Obj and fbx aimed to transfer mesh data, node setup have minor and incomplete functionality. $\endgroup$ – RUben Jun 13 '19 at 18:24
