I have two clouds of naked vertices created from tree models - no faces, no edges.

enter image description here I want to assign different colors to these clouds so it is possible to better distinguish between them in the viewport. However, I don't want to add any geometry like planes, cubes or spheres to the models.

I am aiming for something like thisenter image description here Is there any way to achive this in Blender, maybe through vertex paint?

  • $\begingroup$ There doesn't seem to be any built-in way except using particle systems set to one particle per vertex of the point cloud (particle instance will be what will "color" the cloud). That said you might find this addon useful $\endgroup$ – Mr Zak Jun 9 at 15:00
