I'm looking to see if there's a faster, better way to make a skymap/cubemap for a game (Unity) using baking and / or Environment Textures.

Ideally, this should be faster than this method (or similar).

I'm looking to convert this environment to a skybox.

A similar methodology to what I'm trying for can be found here or here, but this functionality seems missingfrom 2.8.

I've tried baking the environment in Cycles to a cube with an Environment Texture in its material, using a ray length of 16 - but I absolutely tanked my computer. I'm wondering if anybody knows a better way of doing this?

Thank you in advance. I've been leaning hard on the Blender community recently, and you've been playing a blinder.
