I'm trying to mirror the ball and chain object across the vertical plane there. Everytime I do so it only mirrors part of it (the ball part as seen below). I would like to know how to make it so the entire ball and chain object is mirrored.

As well when I go to move 1 ball or the other, both of them move. Usually I go into edit mode and select 1 ball and use p and separate by loose parts. I don't get the option to do so though. In edit mode the only object I can highlight is the left ball, no other object is letting me select.

I was applying rigid body physics to the object before mirroring as seen below. The intent is to mirror a duplicate of the ball and chain so I can have them bash into each other. The one on the left is already working as intended, I just need it mirrored.

  • $\begingroup$ The Mirror modifier is made to create a mesh with a symmetry, meaning its left side is strictly symmetrical to its right side, for example a car or a face, I'm not sure that's what you need here. If you want to make a symmetrical copy of your whole ball, first merge the ball and its chain, then shift D, move the copy on an axis, and S X (or Y?) -1 to symmetrize. $\endgroup$ – moonboots Mar 17 at 8:18
