So I've been racking my brains on this issue for hours now and I just can't seem to figure out a good solution to my problem.

I have a high-poly model with just 1 single diffuse map. The problem is the way this high-poly model generated its UV's during a 3D scan. They're a mess and I need the model to be lower poly for my scene.

I've duplicated and decimated the model to create a lower-poly version but I'm not happy with the result nor the texture so I retopologised the model but now I need the diffuse texture mapping onto my new model.

Is it possible to bake the high-res diffuse texture onto my low-poly model with the new UV map?

I think theoretically it's 'extracting a projection of colour data from the high-poly model and wrapping it onto my low-poly model'.

Is this even possible?

Thank you in advance
