I'm a beginner in animation. Blender 2.79 seemed to work fine on my Windows 10 Home laptop. But it seemed impossible to enter text as an object so someone named Andrew recommended that I try 2.8. I downloaded 2.8 as a zip file. When I run blender.exe in the unzipped directory, I get a black window for about 1 second, then it disappears. Nothing else happens. I tried someone's advice to download opengl32.dll, but adding this file to the Blender directory made no difference. My computer is a fairly new, ordinary HP laptop with no special video card. It runs Win GL demo programs just fine. Should I go back to 2.79?
