I have created a lid for our teapot in blender, by drawing the conture as a curve, then turning the curve into a mesh and then spining it around 360 degrees. The everything looks good in blender: Teapot Lid like it should look

But when i export it to STL and open it in a 3D printing program like Slic3r, the hollow inside of the mesh is filled:

Things i've tried to fix it:

  • Applying all modifiers
  • Removing doubles
  • Recalculating the normals to face outside
  • Triangulate the mesh

Nothing has worked. Any ideas?
