Blender 2.8. My retopologized mirrored(applied) Multi-resolution(not applied) mesh has its own local axes even when I set them in the viewport to global. These axes are only annoyingly affecting symmetry, such as sculpt symmetry or the symmetrize mesh or mirror function. In the local axes the x-axis is vertical and the y and z are oblique leading to all sorts of mishap. What seems to be the problem and how do I reset its axes to global or at least local but regular.(z pointing upwards etc)?

Thanks in advance.

$\begingroup$ Back yourself up against unexpected side-effects, and hit Ctrl-A > 'Apply Rotation' $\endgroup$ – Robin Betts Jan 16 at 16:57
