I found a Blender file online . It is a puppet head for atop motion animation to 3d print. images on the page show the head printed out in all its separate pieces. the downloaded file . . . when opened on blender shows the pieces assembled together. So my question is (drum role) can I separate the parts and if so then how? P.S.-I will send the file to anyone who would like to help.

A single file can have many separate objects. You can export one at a time for printing. If the model is all in one object, then it is possible to separate it into multiple objects, either by loose parts or manually selecting each section. – sambler Nov 9 at 0:44
