So basically in a parent child relationship, the child copies the global rotation of the parent bone and the global location of parent's tail. However trying to recreate this behaviour with constrains, I can't figure out how to preserve child bone's local rotation before it starts to rotate with "the parent". Is the only way to use an intermediary bone?

  • $\begingroup$ Wouldn't the intermediary bone be eliminated by parenting with "Keep Offset". $\endgroup$ – Leander Oct 6 '18 at 16:39
